Yoga Week

July 28-August 2 (Saturday dinner–Thursday lunch)

This retreat is now fully registered. If you would like to be on a wait list, please contact us by phone or email.

This program is suitable for all skill levels and ages, though some prior practice of yoga is helpful. Families are welcome.

Join us as we celebrate Melanie Whittaker’s 10th year of leading yoga at Indralaya! Melanie’s teachings are rooted in the Iyengar and Ashtanga traditions with emphasis on body alignment, strength, and flexibility using asanas (postures) and pranayama (breathwork). Participants will explore simple and funways to incorporate yoga into their daily routine. Breathwork focuses on reducing stress while oxygenating the blood and improving the overall health of body and mind. Posture modifications are incorporated to give the practitioner the best possible yoga experience without compromising the body’s structure.

Melanie Whittaker, RYT, was introduced to Yoga 32 years ago. Her instruction centers on the teachings of Yogacharya B.K.S. Iyengar and Sri Krishna Pattabhi Jois. Melanie is certified with Yoga Alliance, is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists and has contributed to Yoga Journal Magazine. Melanie has students aged from 7 to 89, including individuals with injuries and chronic illness, or recovering from surgery. She is Yoga Director for Winthrop Physical Therapy and Fitness, Winthrop, WA and owner of In Balance Yoga.
