Be the Change: Cultivating the Roots of Peace and Compassion in Action
We must be the change we wish to see in the world! – Gandhi
August 14–19 (Saturday dinner – Thursday lunch) These challenging times call us to live in greater balance by opening to the sacred Mystery we share with all creation. Our roots run deep in natural peace, goodness, and compassion for all life. Let us come together and awaken ever more deeply to this truth. As a community of mindfulness amid the exquisite natural beauty of Indralaya, we will explore timeless wisdom teachings and practices for embodying greater wisdom and compassion in our lives and world. Guided by experienced teachers, the inspiring forces of nature, and the company of kindred spirits, this special program offers a rare opportunity to deeply cultivate our own inner garden, water the roots of peace within us, and strengthen our creative capacity to carry compassion into action. Our days will include a supportive balance of teachings, heartfelt silence, meditations for nourishing inner peace, opening our hearts, and renewing our spirit, opportunities for group dialogue and reflection, and mindful explorations of the island’s natural wonders.
Joel and Michelle Levey have devoted their lives to the exploration of the world’s great contemplative inner sciences traditions. Their work with organizations around the globe inspires more sustainable ways to bring deeper wisdom, resilience, and compassion to life-work. They’ve studied intensively with many of the most revered teachers of our time, including the Dalai Lama, Krishnamurti, and Thich Nhat Hahn. Their books include: Luminous Mind: Meditation and Mind Fitness; The Fine Arts of Relaxation, Concentration, and Meditation; Living in Balance; and Wisdom at Work.
