Awakening Kindness with Nawang Khechog

This program will include a free public concert on Saturday evening.

May 31 – June 3 (Thursday dinner – Sunday lunch)

One of the marvels of being human is that we can choose to nurture and cultivate kindness, compassion, and love. In this retreat, Nawang will draw on his experiences as a Buddhist monk and more than 20 years of experience of living in the West to teach the many ways we can enrich our lives by being kind to each other and ourselves. The workshop includes observing days of kindness, meditation, chanting, in-depth teachings and the Universal Dance of Kindness.

Four Nobel Peace laureates (H.H. the Dalai Lama, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Jody Williams & Betty Williams) have endorsed Nawang’s 2010 book, Awakening Kindness. In the book’s forward, H.H. The Dalai Lama wrote, “I commend Nawang for his efforts to awaken others to the understanding that, as a source of lasting happiness and joy, kindness and compassion are among the principal things that make our lives meaningful.”

Nawang Khechog is a Grammy nominee and a best-selling Tibetan recording artist. He has been a collaborator for many years with the PeaceJam programs organized by 12 Nobel Peace Laureates to share spirit, skill, and wisdom with young people around the world.
